Caring for your dog in a safe and positive way

Bryony

I live in Cheltenham with my family and 2 dogs, Florence, a Lab/Terrier cross, and our Working Golden Retriever, Odin. I have been running Cotswold Hound since 2014.

I've always loved dogs, my earliest memories being playing with a litter of Newfoundland pup's in Scotland where my relatives fed them porridge and eggs for their breakfast!

I set up Cotswold Hound to provide the best care and support for dog owners with our approach being based on exercise, enrichment and engagement

I manage a carefully handpicked team of vetted and experienced dog walkers in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire who are first aid trained and fully insured

We pay attention to getting to know the needs of individual dogs

Walking groups are built on harmonious packs of no more than 4 dogs. We see this as important to make sure we provide the right level of care and interaction to the dogs we look after.

Our team and clients benefit from the support of our in-house dog trainer and behaviour specialist who helps to support and motivate your dog in the most positive way possible.

Like many trainers my training journey started due to challenges with my own dog, Florence a Patterdale/Labrador cross who was very fear/aggressive. Seeing the transformation in her behaviour triggered a strong desire to learn more.

I'm driven to help owners develop their bond with their dogs. It’s really rewarding to see the difference it can make. After working with dogs part-time for nearly 10 years, I made the conscious decision to leave a career in Financial Services to become a full time dog trainer.

I am proud to be a fully qualified & accredited member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT). I am committed to continual learning to provide the latest training approaches to support owners and their dogs using ethical, kind and effective dog training methods. Amongst a range of training and experience, I have been a mentee on the IMDT mentorship programme run by Steve Mann founder of the IMDT and Author of “Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy”, and Dave Brice, Head of Behaviour at the IMDT. I am also an approved dog trainer through the Dog Training College. I am currently being mentored by Craig Ogilvie, who is an internationally renowned dog trainer specialising in high drive dogs and dog sports.

I love working with my customers to help progress their dog’s development. I only use modern, ethical, effective training techniques and will always put your dog's welfare at the heart of everything I do.  I am committed to doing my very best for every dog & owner I work with.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

Cotswold Hound have been walking my 2 Vizsla’s for a few years now. The boys are always so excited when the walker arrives and they come home having been well exercised. Not easy to wear out two young Vizsla’s!

I would highly recommend their service. Bryony is reliable and accommodating when my plans have changed. I feel confident that my boys are in good hands when out walking with Cotswold Hound.
